Fortnite AI coach compared:
what each one actually reads
Every Fortnite AI coach says it will make you better. The honest way to tell them apart is what they look at: your screen while you play, a clip after the match, the replay file the game writes, or nothing but your chat message. That one choice decides what a coach can know about your match — and, for cup players, whether you can run it in a tournament.
Checked 28 September 2026 against each product’s own site. Each row uses that product’s own words. This is not a ranking, and Fortiq is one of the rows.
The coaches, side by side
The ones that appear when you search for a Fortnite AI coach, grouped by what they read.
| Coach | What it reads, in its own words | When | Price as listed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fortiq | The .replay file Fortnite saves on PC. The report covers fights, zones and positions, and you can ask the coach about that match. |
After the match | Free: 3 full reports a week, 15 coach replies a day. Pro €9.99 a month |
| Osirion | A Fortnite improvement platform built around replay data, with its own app. | After the match | Their site blocked our fetch on 28 Sep; check it for current terms |
| Snapin | Uploaded video clips: “Drop a clip. The analyzer breaks down the fight frame by frame.” | After the match | “$6.25/mo”, with a yearly plan |
| Omnic Forge | Gameplay video from your Twitch or YouTube stream, or an uploaded video: “computer vision and deep learning techniques to analyze video of your gameplay”. | After the match | Essential $0 (5 matches a week, 2 insights per match). Elite $9.99 a month |
| Questie AI | Your shared Fortnite window: “build mechanics and edits, the resource screen, player positions when visible, and map state”, with voice chat. | During the match | “$19.99 /month”, “25+ hours included” |
| HakkoAI | The game screen: “AI detects the game screen in real time and automatically pushes recommended tips during key moments”. A general game companion, not Fortnite-only. | During and after | A free plan and paid Hakko+ plans; amounts not readable on the page |
| Chat characters and custom GPTs | Your text message only. Character.ai personas, custom GPTs and prompt apps named “Fortnite coach” get no data from your match. | Whenever you ask | Varies by platform |
Prices and features change; each product’s own site has today’s. The ForTTactics AI coach page, which also appears for this search, answered “This app isn’t available right now” on 28 September 2026, so it is not in the table.
Three kinds of input, three kinds of answer
Live screen readers (Questie AI, HakkoAI) see what is on your screen, while it is on your screen. They can talk to you mid-fight. They cannot see a player who is not on screen, and what they learn is inferred from pixels.
Clip and video analyzers (Snapin, Omnic Forge) work on footage after the match. A clip shows the fight you chose to record, from your camera.
Replay-file coaches (Fortiq, and Osirion by its own description) read the record the game keeps of the match: where players were, eliminations with location and weapon tag, damage, placement and the zones. The same file reads the same way every time. What a replay file contains, and what it does not.
Which of these can you use in a cup?
Epic’s competitive master rules prohibit overlays that capture the real-time state of the game and give players information or feedback that gives them a competitive advantage. The same rule says that working with a coach or using the in-game replay tool does not fall under that category. (Our translation of the EU page, read on 26 September 2026.)
So the question to ask any live tool before a tournament match is whether it reads the game while you play. A coach that works after the match from the replay file is on the side the rule names as allowed. If you only play ranked and creative, the live tools are a different question.
Where Fortiq fits, and where it does not
Fortiq is built for players who grind cups and scrims and already know the macro. It reads your replay after the match, names the one thing that cost you the placement, and lets you ask the coach about positioning, rotations and fights in that match instead of about Fortnite in general. How the Fortiq coach works.
What it does not do: talk to you during a match, work on console (Epic documents no way to copy a replay off PlayStation or Xbox), or replace a human coach who watches you play. What human coaching costs.
Questions about Fortnite AI coaches
It depends on what you want it to read. If you want someone talking to you during ranked games, the live screen readers do that. If you play cups and want to know what cost you the placement, a coach that reads the replay file after the match sees the whole match and stays on the side of Epic’s overlay rule.
Yes. Fortiq’s free plan gives you 3 full replay reports a week and 15 coach replies a day, with nothing locked. Omnic Forge lists a $0 Essential plan with 5 matches a week, and HakkoAI lists a free plan.
Epic’s competitive rules prohibit overlays that capture the real-time state of the game and give you a competitive advantage, and name working with a coach and using the replay tool as outside that ban. A coach that works from the replay file after the match is on the allowed side; check any live tool against the rule first.
Live screen readers and clip analyzers can work with footage from any platform you can capture. Replay-file coaches need the .replay file, and Epic documents no way to copy one off PlayStation or Xbox, so they are a PC answer.
